With the holiday season creeping around the corner, Gahanna and the Greater Columbus community are offering a number of seasonal festivities!
Want to see some animals and get into the holiday spirit before Gahanna gets into gear? The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium sets up for the holidays with their Holiday Wildlights on November 17th. Visit the zoo to see the Wildlights and have a different experience seeing the animals at night!
Another kick off of the holiday season are the Holiday Lights activities on November 19th. The celebration will include a reindeer petting zoo, bands, food trucks, carriage rides, crafts, games, and much more! When the sun goes down, holiday lights are ignited, Santa is greeted, and and community Christmas tree is lit! Be sure to visit Creekside on November 19th to attend the Holiday Lights celebration from 2pm-7pm.
With all of these fun holiday activities, it is easy to forget about Thanksgiving Be sure to sit down, eat some turkey, wind down a bit, and get prepped for even more cold weather. Remember to be thankful for everything, including friends and family.
Later in the season, there will be a 5k Santa Race (walk and run) on December 2nd! Starting at Creekside, there will be giveaways, music, and photos on the new map of the race. Children ages six and younger who may not be able to handle the full 5k can sign up for the Little Reindeer dash! Do not forget to pick up any pre-race packets the day before!
Above all, while it is important to enjoy the holiday season, do not forget abut daily life. As December nears, students tend to slow down. As the semester comes to a close, midterms will begin. Beginning on December 21st, the students in the Gahanna school district will be off school for winter break and will return January 3rd. Bundle up and enjoy some holiday festivities this winter!
