Superbowl LII Predictions

February 4, 2018

Super Bowl LII (52) will take place February 4, 2018 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. With a championship on the line, the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles will meet for one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year.

The Patriots have appeared in the big game before, as they’ll be appearing in their eighth Super Bowl since 2001. Quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick are icons in NFL history, and are known for their five Super Bowl wins together. Just a year ago, the Patriots made the greatest comeback in NFL history when they overcame a 28-3 deficit in the 2nd half of Super Bowl 51 against the Falcons. A sixth Super Bowl victory would put the Patriots into a category of their own, and will create a legacy that won’t be forgotten in NFL history.

The Eagles are not familiar to Super Bowls the way the Patriots are. This will be their third Super Bowl in franchise history, and only a handful of players have played in a Super Bowl. They’re also one of the few teams who have yet to win a Super Bowl. Ironically, the Eagles last Super Bowl appearance came in 2005, when they lost 24-21 to the New England Patriots. An Eagles victory would be the biggest in franchise history, and could possibly set up a dynasty of their own.

Despite the difference between the two teams, the Eagles have a good chance at winning on Sunday. They have great players and coaches who have helped them get to this point, and they’re good enough to get Philadelphia to the finish line.

Regardless of what happens throughout the game, the game will likely come down to the fourth quarter, which is where the Patriots thrive the most. In a tight situation, one would have to trust Tom Brady and the Patriots, who are more experienced than Nick Foles, the Eagles’ quarterback who has been filling in as a backup throughout their postseason run. It’ll be difficult for the Eagles to overcome the experience and talent of the Patriots team, which is why the Patriots are likely to come away with another NFL title in Minnesota.
